Yieldbird Head of Global Communication Success Story!
It’s never easy to make a huge step in your career path and change the industry in which you work. Sometimes somebody starts a career with us without any experience in programmatic advertising and it’s not an obstacle! We can also proudly tell our clients, potential prospects and candidates that we are very lucky to have talented individuals who create and develop Yieldbird every day. Today we want to introduce you one of them – Szymon Pruszyński who has been a part of the Yieldbird team for two and a half year now!
How has Szymon began his carrer?
Before Yieldbird, Szymon grew his vast experience in various advertising agencies which he likens to real survival training and where he grew his thick skin. He worked mainly with B2C clients and was responsible for client service.
During his path in this advertising agency, he was responsible for the whole communication range, from concepts and production to developing a full campaign. After spending so many years in this business, Szymon was gasping for something different to work in an agency, but wanted to find something related to advertising.
Timed perfectly, one of our HR specialists contacted Szymon and offered him a job as a senior customer success manager – and that was the moment when he started his career in Yieldbird. Working with programmatic, which he had never done before, was the first challenge he had to face but it was something that he needed at this point in his career.

His first impression about Yieldbird was that a lot of things are much more technical and there are a lot of terms in programmatic to learn.
After so many years in the advertising industry, it was something new for me that the evaluation of my work was based on the zero/one approach. In programmatic, the changes you make for clients are measurable. It’s easy to verify if our tools and efforts are having the desired effect for our clients and publishers or not.
Szymon started his journey in the Customer Success Team. It was related to his previous experience in client service – he became mainly responsible for helping publishers maximize revenues through various programmatic solutions, building and maintaining long-term relationships with strategic partners and providing expert advice on yield management.

What Szymon values in Yieldbird the most is the training which he finds valuable and gives him the opportunity to improve his competencies – and business trips. Thanks to this, he is able to get to know the environments of various publishers. He also has the opportunity to be present at trade events where he can use his public speaking skills. Szymon also values the fact that programmatic is a very dynamic and constantly changing environment. In programmatic, there is no slack, you have to constantly update your knowledge and become acquainted with new technologies. What is also great in Yieldbird is that you have the prospect for internal transitions.
And the internal transition is a new challenge that Szymon had to face up to recently. After two and a half years Szymon became Head of Global Communication in Yieldbird!

I always wanted to work client-side. Because of my basic work in advertising or programmatic, I felt a thirst for updating my knowledge, finding a new perspective, new solutions. A new challenge is coming up now in Yieldbird. It wasn’t easy to find a candidate who would be a perfect mix of knowledge about the programmatic industry, the products we offer and have extensive experience in marketing. And the company decided to give me a chance to show my involvement and intentions in building a marketing team in Yieldbird.
On the one hand, I am very excited, I have the opportunity to decide on the company’s vision and in which direction of communication is going. On the other hand, I know that I have to seek support in people and use the experience of people who have a lot of knowledge about their products and how to work with them.
Szymon has a vision of marketing in Yieldbird where we have to put our efforts into our activity in the programmatic industry. He wants to gather experience and gets to know the tools which would help him build company awareness so that in a couple of years Yieldbird would be recognized as one of the best ad-tech companies out there.
Our clients or future prospects need to know that we are top-level experts in our field. We have to clearly communicate our products and services which indeed can help publishers in every area.
Today
When Szymon became a Head of Global Communication, aside from creating brand awareness, he has to be constantly inline with the programmatic industry. In his opinion, programmatic will cover other channels of communication like outdoors, television and radio. It is something that happens now in the United States and in Poland probably will scale up in a couple of years.
